Daring Card Makers & Papertake Weekly Challenges

Here's a quickie for Daring Card Makers, it took me about 15 minutes all up after ripping the PP & inking etc. Also at Papertake Weekly Challenges, you have to make a Thank you card, so this fits that challenge too!

I really enjoyed making this one, & I love the butterfly, I cut him with PP first & then with vellum & used Kindy Glitz for the trail.

Hope you enjoy it

Simply adorable - Kazan's Sketch 3

I made this card for Kazan's Sketch 3. I had previously made this Gift Card Holder & just had it sitting around until I wanted it. So seeing Kazan's sketch I thought I can finally use it... so I played around with it for awhile & this is what I came up with.

I used:
Bazzill Basics for the base,
TLC StackZ PP for the mat under the gift card holder,
Baby girl PP for the Gift Card Cover,
Clear Stamp "Simply adorable",
Heart & Flower buttons with Rhinestones,
Gerbra Flower,
Light pink sheer Ribbon,
& Lace along the spine of the Gift Card Holder.

On the inside I stamped Congratulations, attached pink satin heart ribbon & underneath where the card sits I attached pink spotted ribbon (not that you can see that)

Instructions for the Gift Card Holder are:
Take a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of CS, score 3" in from each end & also in the middle at 5 1/2". Fold into a "W", then stick the center part of the "W" together & cut out an opening for the gift card pocket.
I can't remember where I got these instrctions from, but this is what I have written down, so I obviously came across them somewhere but forgot to save it, so hope this helps anyway.

I've been tagged!!

I've been tagged by Sharon and here's what I'm supposed to do:
The rules of the game: Each player answers the questions themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you've posted your answers.

Ten years ago....
Was the birth of our gorgeous daughter, 7 weeks early mind you so it was a little scary!! She was only very tiny but still very cute!! We had a long stint in hospital while she 'fattened up". My husband & I had a beautiful wedding & had our daughters Name Giving during our ceremony. It was a gorgeous day that we were able to share with our family & friends.

Five things on today's "to do list"
1. Get all the bookkeeping done so I have time to make some cards...
2. Check out all the challenges for the week & start on them...
3. Finish our Card Swap cards & get them in the mail...
4. Fold all the washing...
5. & clean the house... yuck the last two sound boring :)

Snacks I enjoy
Chocolate, chocolate & more chocolate :)

Things I would do if I was a millionaire
Naturally pay off all our debts, set up fund for our children for when they are older & then TRAVEL!!!

Places I have lived
(All of these places are in Australia):Bayswater, Yarrawonga, Cobram, Finley & Melbourne

Okay, now I've got to tag 5 people, so here's my 5....Ladies, if you don't have time to play or you've already been tagged for this game.....no problem.....just havin' some FUN!!!! Bev, Karen, Kim, Shaz, Nicola.

Thanks for playing :)

Mini Photo Book

At Splitcoast Stampers I saw this cute Mini Photo Book & I thought it would be perfect for my Dad as he carries photos & his pen in his shirt pocket. Our girls had their school photos the other month, so I thought it would be pretty cute for him.

I used:
a sturdy white CS for the album,
Paisley double sided PP,
heart ribbon with rhinestones,
a hibiscus flower,attached with a white brad
& a Papercraft Expressions clear stamp.
And to finish it off I attached skinny white ribbon to the spine & tied a gold craft key & lock to it.

Thanks for looking, I will update it with the photos once they arrive.

If Friends Were Flowers...

At Lots to do Challenges the challenge was to make a card with the theme "Words", so I started it off a little different with PP with words all over it & I knew I wanted to use the "Friends" stamp & I couldn't get it to look like it was in my head, so I started playing with it & this is what I came up with...

I'm not sure if it still qualifies as I have used flowers & lace etc but anyway I love how it turned out.

I used:
*Piglet Bazzill Basics
*pattern paper two scoops/Strawberry Smoothie PP
*Glittered lace
*see~d's lil' stamps- "Friends Circle"
*Paper Craft Expressions Clear Cling Stamps- "If friends were flowers I'd pick you!"
*Hibiscus Flowers
*Mini brads
*Metal friends embellishment

Hope you like it

I used
Morning Glory Bazzill Basics
Heart & Soul PP
Metallic Lilac CS
Lever Craft Punch
Fiskars 62 Clear Stamps Wedding theme
Rhinestones & Kindy Glitz
Vivaldi Double Heart Charm
Satin Ribbon

In the picture you can't really tell but in the champagne glasses & the wedding rings there is kindy glitz to make it sparkle, but no matter how many times I took the picture, it doesnt show very well...

Anniversary card for my parents

I made this Anniversary card for my Parents, It's very basic but just pretty enough to not be over done. Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad was computer generated, then I placed the ribbon over the top of it & placed a heart jewel & some silver rhinestones on some mats.

On the inside it says :
Tears and whispered secrets
Elation, joy & crippling pain
Time and Tide, the years go by
Yet some things remain the same

Our love has never been broken
Our bond remains strong and true
And throughout my life I'm thankful
To have Parents as loving as you.

Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad

Over at Daring Cardmakers, the theme is anniversary so hopefully this meets the criteria.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by

Jozza's blog candy

I was leaving a comment on Michelles blog today & I saw that she had mentioned some wonderful blog candy at Jozza's, it's to celebrate her 5000+ hits on her blog. Go take a look, it's wonderful!!

Sketch 2 for Kazan & BBTB

At 2 Sketches 4 You Kazan's Sketch 2 was so cute, I had to have a go & being inspired by a friend becoming an auntie again over the weekend, I made a baby placque to go in a baby album.

Then after making it I noticed the contest over at the BBTB site, which was to make a project that uses the main color of brown with a heart somewhere on the project, geared towards something for a baby...(baby card, baby layout, altered baby item) etc..... so I decided to make the same thing again but smaller to go onto a card

I think they both look so cute as a card or LO embellishment.

Thanks for having a look

June Card Swap

This month for the Aussie Card Swap I am in, the theme is Weddings or Anniversaries. My DH got me a present the other week.. a sewing machine for scrapbooking & card making & I knew that I wanted to use it to make this card. Being so small, it is tricky to use in comparison to a normal sized sewing machine, so I made the mat that I wanted to sew on a little smaller, cut lace to fit & sewed away...

I used Breathtaking Bazzill Basics for the base & Heidi Bazzill Basics for the mat, my lace mat with heart ribbon ontop decorated with rhinestones, satin ribbon across the bottom of the card with metal charmed letters that I found in the button section of the craft shop, I didn't like the charm bit so I stuck rhinestones on them (the only thing I don't like is that the "N's" charm is lower than the other letters). Then sticking to the rules of using atleast one cut from a cricut cartridge, I used the heart from "Happily Ever After" & place a meatal charmed double heart, again placing a rhinestone on the charm. I kind of looked bare just sitting there on the heart, so I placed metallic flowers around it just so it stands out a bit. My reference to the double hearts being ontop of the single heart is "Two become One", well in my mind that sounded good haha now I'm thinking ... okay then ... haha anyway you can forget I just said that :)

Anyway so back to the card... the photo really doesn't do it justice, it really is much prettier in real life.

Hope you girls in the swap enjoy it anyway.

Birthday Card

A friend of ours is Polish, so for her birthday I made her this card...

I used a plum coloured CS & a cream coloured mat, with paisley PP. Across the middle is a computer generated strip that says "Szczęśliwy Dzień urodzenia Sophia" which means Happy Birthday Sophia in Polish. I used rhinestones to decorate & an inked heart from the george cricut cartridge.

On the inside it says "Lepsze Życzenia z całą naszą Miłością" which means "With love from all of us"

She was so touched by the card :)

AND THE WINNER IS.....

WOW you guys are awesome, I love all the cards entered, but firstly I would like to thanks, Tracey, Kim, Sharon Caudle, Michelle, Gayle, Nikki, Bee & Ann for joining in & having some fun with me :)

So I figured I will leave it for an extra day due to the whole time difference thing, just when I think I have my head around it, daylight savings starts or ends somewhere in the world changing it all again haha but anyway with much deliberation my husband & I had finally came out with a winner.... well 3 actually haha... ok ok I know I am hopeless... my hubby chose the winner (which I 100% agree with) but then I looooooved 2 others as well, so he suggested to have 1st, 2nd & 3rd... so of course I was happy for that, it means more prezzies & more fun ;)

So anyway so you guys are probably thinking; just get to it... haha
1st: Kim
2nd: Sharon Caudle
3rd: Michelle

Drop me an email with your addresses & I will get your goodies in the mail.

Thanks again everyone for having fun & joining in my blog candy challenge
